Schizoid personality disorder is characterized by voluntary social withdrawal and limited emotional expression.  The individual does not desire intimate relationships and takes pleasure in few activities.

Schizotypal personality disorder consists of a pervasive pattern of interpersonal awkwardness, social isolation, superstitious behavior, eccentric appearance, and odd speech.  Individuals may lack close friends and demonstrate suspicious or paranoid ideation.  These patients tend to have unusual perceptive experiences and magical beliefs.
